The company should have been insured to cover the amount of damage the facility could cause and should have been overseen by the local government. To have a facility this dangerous where it was located sets liability on zoning. The only place the federal government should have a place in this matter is making sure the liable parties are paying their damages and assessing penalties for the violations that helped cause this disaster. Tax payers should be outraged if one penny of federal money is used for damaged.
