Rick Scott's re-election campaign, an upstart property insurance company is likely to reap a million windfall, paid from the coffers of Citizens Property Insurance Corp. Here's the deal. Citizens Property Insurance Corp. is a state-run Florida insurance company. Because Florida has hit a lucky streak over the last years and not had as much hurricane damage as they had feared, they're sitting on a cash surplus of …http://www.twitpic.com/cshst4

Schmidt gave an example to illustrate his point: a teenager commits a crime, goes to juvenile hall, and is released. In America's legal system, the person can apply and have the crime expunged from their record then legally state they were never convicted of anything. But the same isn't true on the Internet. A potential employer could still run a reference check online and find out about a crim…http://www.twitpic.com/cotec1

Bush, but he does think a lot of the liberal critique leveled at the time seems “misguided or absurd” in retrospect. Mostly on domestic policy issues, but on foreign and security issues as well: The continuities between Bush and Obama on civil liberties, presidential power and the war on terror make the same point: In order to critique Bushism appropriately, you need to recognize that on many, many issues, his presidency was much more centrist and establishmentarian than it was radical or right-wing. There may be some issues on which …http://www.twitpic.com/cn02kl

Developer Gary Barnett isn't giving any hints (other than nationalities) and the buyers themselves are, for the most part, not talking to the press. But in the case of one lucky buyer, who just snapped up a .5 million pad, that probably has less to do with a desire for privacy and more do with the fact that she, uh, probably can't talk yet. That's right, One57's latest lucky buyer is a two-year-old Chinese toddler. Her mother, who took care of the paperwork and stuff, told the Sotheby's b…http://www.twitpic.com/cew8zi

#union #iww #occupy #ows #p2 #p21 #tlot #tcot #TeaParty Thank you baby Jesus. This country was built by immigrants – past and present. A person who wants to live here in America and pay their dues isn't coming here because they want to live off of America's awesome welfare state <sarcasm>. They came here because they wanted a better life. Stop the Xenophobia. Simple solution – give them a background check and a health test and if they pass …. let them in. According to Chris Otts of The Courier-Journal, Dimon told his audience that the United States has “too much inequality.” This isn't a novel insight — the Occupy Wall Street protests were predicated on this idea, expressed through the …http://www.twitpic.com/ce6b5u

Meltwater provides its clients with the headline and a few snippets from each article that mentions them, and contends that this is fair use. AP argued that it isn't, and asked Meltwater to pay a license fee for using AP's content. James Joyner isn't impressed: Now, this strikes me as silly. Meltwater is in no ways a rival news service. It’s not a news service at all. It’s a way for an organization to keep track of its coverage in the world press. The think tank that employs me …http://www.twitpic.com/ce5e8g

#union #iww #occupy #ows #p2 #p21 #tlot #tcot #TeaParty Zach Stein 8:27 PM – Public I saw this photo on Facebook. It's meant to imply that Obama isn't as Macho as our intrepid republican heroes, G.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. This photo shows Obama hanging curtains while he was volunteering at a shelter for teens. My opinion on this is it's immature and wrong on a number of levels, one it implies that doing housework and hanging curtains somehow diminishes manliness, and secondly because what he was actually doing was a good deed. God forbid our president should spend some of his time volunteeering to help others. Bush and Reagan were clearing brush on their personal ranches, which I don't have a problem with, but of the three activities we should be celebrating the fact that Obama spent time helping others.http://www.twitpic.com/c5hzam
